The Globe Theatre and The Golden Hinde

As
part of our Tudor studies, Year 5 visited the reconstructed Globe
Theatre and Golden Hinde in Southwark, London.
We studied one of Shakespeare's plays - Macbeth - and looked around the theatre. It was fascinating to see the way theatre has developed and changed over the years. |
| The building also let us see what a Tudor building looked like to Tudor people - without any of the changes that get made over the years. |  |
| Our Golden Hinde experience was the highlight of the day. We learned about the work of Tudor sailors - the good points and the bad. |  |

We
learned how to load the guns and raise the anchor.
We also learned just how little the Tudors knew about medicine by becoming Barber-Surgeons! A fascinating and exciting visit! |
